I’m so happy you stopped by! My name is Andrea Deets and I’m the person behind the lens here at plaid & paisley photography. I am an on-location, natural light photographer based in Lake County, Illinois.

Like many photographers, I splurged on my first “fancy” camera after the birth of my daughter in an effort to document her life. Four years and a baby boy later, photography has turned from a hobby, to a passion, to an obsession. I honestly just can’t get enough. I love the emotion a photograph can convey. I love the beauty in capturing real, gone-to-soon moments. And being able to capture all that for other people…. well it just makes me feel warm-and-fuzzy and incredibly grateful.

Outside of my photography obsession I:

• Am lucky-in-love with a pretty handy guy
• Have a spunky, princess-loving brown eyed-girl and a chatty, ball-loving toddler boy. I am thankful everyday to be the Mama of these two.
• Have a crazy Jack Russell named Roscoe that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Even on those bark-at-every-squirrel-in-the-yard kind of days. (Which is near everyday)
• Am addicted to Netflix…and Pinterest…..and often find myself doing both at the same time!
• Need a large cup of coffee to perk-up in the morning and another in the afternoon to keep the day going strong. So perhaps I have an addiction here, too….
• Love music. All types. All genres. Listen to it all.
